August 1-5, 2023, "B-Air: Art Infinity Radio" resides in the 18th Architectural Biennale of Venice, in "Ball Theatre", namely the French Pavillion as designed by the architectural team MUOTO (Gilles Delalex, Yves Moreau), Georgi Stanishev, Jos Auzende, Clémence la Sagna, and Anna Tardivel.
For those five days, "Radio Utopia - News from the World" turn the space into a broadcasting studio, inviting voices and sounds from accross the world. The project is directed by Nicolas Tixier (CRESSON - ENSAG) and Carlotta Daró (LIAT laboratory, ENSA Paris-Malaquais).
In response to the invitation, TWIXTlab "occupies" a frequency, for audiences to tune in our activities and reflections on "Audibility" and other projects concerned with Deaf inclusivity in the (sonic) arts.
The podcasts are entitled “Art from one sense to the other”, “Tangible sound” and “Critical reflections on sound as a multi-sensory experience” and include excerpts of a discussion on the notion of sensory translation, applications with tangible sound, as well as a reflection on the approach to sound as a multi-sensory experience.

The podcasts are musically complemented by excerpts of compositions and recordings resulting from the artistic workshops: “Tangible Radio – Class on Air” (in collaboration with the Special High School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Argyroupolis – radio editing & composition: Giorgos Mizithras, Dana Papachristou, Orestis Karamanlis; workshop facilitation: Kalliopi Takaki; design of “tangible radio” device: Petros Flambouris), and “Sound Art and Deaf Experience – hearing as a physical experience” of the Social and Educational Actions of the Greek National Opera (coordination Dana Papachristou, Yorgos Samantas, with the collaboration of Orestis Karamanlis – “Radar” composed by Orestis Karamanlis; performers: the Deaf Ensemble & Transcultural Orchestra of the Greek National Opera, with the guidance of Haris Lambrakis).

Additionally, “On the Planet” radio story, broadcasted Wednesday August 4, 13:00. The show was produced with the collaboration between students and teachers from the Special High School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Argyroupolis, facilitated by actress, pedagogist and radio producer Kalliopi Takaki, and the TWIXTlab working group for "Tangible Radio - Class on Air" series of Audibility.
The original piece was produced for playback in the "Tangible Radio" prototype device, designed by Petros Flambouris for the purpose of the respective workshops in schools. You can hear a version for conventional speakers, mixed by MIZI (Giorgos Mizithras) here:
For addressing wider audiences in the disability spectrum, particularly for audiences with visual impairments, supporting material was handed out to visitors. The program prepared for the occasion included a transcript of the show in Greek, a translation of it in English, together with description of the documents and their transcription in Braille.
