The educational programme "Sound Art and Education: music as an embodied experience" of the Educational & Social Activities of the Greek National Opera completes the cycle of its workshops with a relaxed performance, a universally accessible performance of structured improvisation, on Saturday 29 April 2023 at 14.00 in the foyer of the Greek National Opera at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, with free admission for the public. The event will be accessible to participants through interpretation in Greek Sign Language.
The educational programme is part of the cycle of universal accessibility actions "All together at the opera", which is implemented with the support of Alpha Bank.
The workshops "Sound Art and Deafness: music as an embodied experience" (Dana Papachristou, Giorgos Samantas) and the Intercultural Orchestra of the GNO (Harris Lambrakis) will improvise together, offering a new experience of musical co-creation, which uses visual stimulation rather than hearing. Under the direction of software created by composer and sound artist Orestis Karamanlis, participants will improvise and compose in the context of a relaxed performance, known as relaxed performance. This is a practice that breaks the conventions of established ways of presenting musical, dance and theatrical performances, which can be attended by people with visible or invisible disabilities of all ages. During the event, the audience will be able to move freely around the space, stay for as long as they wish, participate in the work, speak or make sounds. We will thus all have the opportunity to experience the process of creating the musical work, but also to get acquainted with the condition of the relaxed performance, a trend in the performing arts that is gradually spreading to a multitude of musical and theatrical stages abroad with the aim of universal accessibility.

Το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «Ηχητική τέχνη και Κώφωση: η μουσική ως ενσώματο βίωμα» των Εκπαιδευτικών & Κοινωνικών Δράσεων της Εθνικής Λυρικής Σκηνής ολοκληρώνει τον κύκλο των εργαστηρίων του με μια χαλαρή παράσταση, μια καθολικά προσβάσιμη επιτέλεση δομημένου αυτοσχεδιασμού, το Σάββατο 29 Απριλίου 2023 στις 14.00 στο φουαγέ της ΕΛΣ στο Κέντρο Πολιτισμού Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος, με ελεύθερη είσοδο για το κοινό. Η εκδήλωση θα είναι προσβάσιμη στους συμμετέχοντες μέσω της διερμηνείας στην Ελληνική Νοηματική Γλώσσα.
To εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα εντάσσεται στον κύκλο δράσεων καθολικής προσβασιμότητας «Όλοι μαζί στην όπερα», ο οποίος υλοποιείται με τη στήριξη της Alpha Bank.
Τα εργαστήρια «Ηχητική τέχνη και Κώφωση: η μουσική ως ενσώματο βίωμα» (Ντάνα Παπαχρήστου, Γιώργος Σαμαντάς) και η Διαπολιτισμική Ορχήστρα της ΕΛΣ (Χάρης Λαμπράκης) θα αυτοσχεδιάσουν από κοινού προσφέροντας μια νέα εμπειρία μουσικής συν-δημιουργίας, η οποία αξιοποιεί περισσότερο το οπτικό ερέθισμα παρά την ακοή. Υπό τη διεύθυνση ενός λογισμικού που δημιούργησε ο συνθέτης και sound artist Ορέστης Καραμανλής, οι συμμετέχοντες και συμμετέχουσες θα αυτοσχεδιάσουν και θα συνθέσουν στο πλαίσιο μιας χαλαρής παράστασης, γνωστής ως relaxed performance. Πρόκειται για μια πρακτική που καταργεί τις συμβάσεις των καθιερωμένων τρόπων παρουσίασης μουσικών, χορευτικών και θεατρικών παραστάσεων, την οποία μπορούν να παρακολουθήσουν άτομα με εμφανείς ή αφανείς αναπηρίες όλων των ηλικιών. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, το κοινό θα μπορεί να κινείται ελεύθερα στον χώρο, να παραμείνει για όση ώρα επιθυμεί, να συμμετέχει στο έργο, να μιλά ή να παράγει ήχους. Θα έχουμε έτσι όλοι μαζί την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουμε βιωματικά τη διαδικασία της δημιουργίας του μουσικού έργου, αλλά και να εξοικειωθούμε με τη συνθήκη της χαλαρής παράστασης, μια τάση των παραστατικών τεχνών που σταδιακά διαδίδεται σε πληθώρα μουσικών και θεατρικών σκηνών του εξωτερικού με στόχο την καθολική προσβασιμότητα.
