The Research center on sound space and urban environment (CRESSON) is the AAU Laboratory team in School of Architecture of Grenoble (France). Originally focused on sound space, the team based its research culture on a sensitive and situated approach on inhabited space. This research relies on original multidisciplinary methods at the crossroads between architecture, social sciences and engineering. Through its fundamental works about ambiances, the team implements experiments that question the processes of urban and architectural design on all scales. Nowadays, the work of CRESSON questions social, ecological, aesthetic, numerical, political and ethical issues about ambiances.
