Transnational Evening of Sounds Radio Program

Promoting social inclusion and agency in later life through sonic remembrance

This series of radio programmes focuses on audio memories and reminiscence. During the two to three hours of broadcasting, a kind of community (electro-acoustic) is formed, consisting of the radio audience, the elderly people interviewed in advance for the radio programmes, the radio presenters and the experts. Although in the past, reaching the "fourth age" only meant that an elderly person had become frail and dependent, we are convinced that this does not necessarily mean that he or she is no longer relevant in society. People can also move back and forth between the third and fourth ages. The series and the workshops that precede it will promote the social inclusion and empowerment of people at this stage of life, the oldest groups of radio listeners of all.
