Movement-Vocal Improvisation for People with Parkinson's Disease

PRESENTATION AND FOCUS GROUP

On Sunday, 29 October 2023, between 15.00 and 16.30, a presentation of the project on approaches to movement-vocal improvisation for people with Parkinson's disease took place.

The results of the test workshop, carried out in Maribor within the framework of Radio Slovenia's B-AIR project, were presented alongside questionnaire findings and conclusions of the focus group with participants of the workshop. Presented were also the guidelines of the "Dancing with Parkinson's" programme, which combines movement on several anatomical levels with live music. In conclusion, the possibilities for the continuation of the project were discussed.

The presentation was moderated by Jaka Škapin, artist, musician and vocal-musical improvisation mentor, in collaboration with psychologist Ana Kuder, who also participated in the spring camp of the Trepetlika Association of people with Parkinson's disease. The event was aimed at the members of the association and their relatives, facilitating an exchange of reflections, experiences, and ideas on the next possible steps of the project.
