The lecture illuminates the importance and role of presenting original artistic content – poems, fairy tales, illustrations, dramatised stories – and folklore through the rich tradition of the children's magazines Ciciban and Cicido. Nana Kisel and Katarina Virant Iršič address the history of designing artistic content for children, developing children's publics, and the powerful educational and developmental role of artistic content in the daily life of children. They showcase the magazines Ciciban and Cicido as spaces of cooperation between artists and pedagogy experts, and as inspiration sources for the creators of various performances and shows for children.
